Silver (SI=F) July futures rose to $76.71 per ounce in early trading Tuesday, after opening 0.2% lower at $75.10. The metal has been in a holding pattern alongside gold, with investors awaiting signals from the Middle East. Negotiations over reopening the Strait of Hormuz and an extended ceasefire remain unresolved, limiting price swings. Silver is up 0.52% over the past five days, while year-over-year growth stood at 173.3% on May 14. Analysts at BlackRock and J.P. Morgan see prices surpassing $80 per ounce by end-2026, and potentially $100 by 2030. However, silver remains volatile—it dropped 32% from $113 to $77 in early 2026, reflecting its sensitivity to industrial demand and sentiment shifts.
