Shares of Super Micro Computer Inc. (NASDAQ: SMCI) surged 9% on May 29, 2026, after the server maker announced a European AI cloud partnership and progress in preventing illegal exports to China. European AI cloud provider Verda selected Supermicro’s NVIDIA GPU-accelerated systems to build its AI cloud infrastructure in Europe, reinforcing robust demand for AI hardware. Separately, Supermicro said its collaboration with Taiwanese authorities led to the arrest of three suspects and the seizure of 50 servers, strengthening compliance controls that had raised investor concerns over export violations. A top investor noted the company’s position in AI is “increasingly difficult to replace.” While the stock remains volatile, the developments boosted confidence. SMCI has gained 34.7% year to date, but is trading 31.3% below its 52-week high of $60.71 from July 2025.
