Super Micro Computer (SMCI) said on May 28, 2026, it is cooperating with U.S. authorities to prevent the unauthorized diversion of its advanced server technology, amid heightened scrutiny over export controls and national security risks. The San Jose-based company stated it is working “proactively” with government officials to ensure its high-performance computing systems do not reach restricted entities. The pledge follows an internal review that identified gaps in the supply chain that could allow technology to be rerouted to end-users in sanctioned countries. No specific financial impact was disclosed, and no allegations of wrongdoing were made against the company. Shares of SMCI have been volatile this year as regulators tighten oversight of AI and data center hardware exports. The company added that it has implemented additional compliance measures and enhanced due diligence protocols for distributors and resellers.
