S&P/TSX Falls 0.85% as Tech, Materials, Energy Stocks Slide
The S&P/TSX Composite Index dropped 217.34 points, or 0.85%, to 25,251.15 on Monday, September 28, 2026, pressured by sharp declines in technology, materials, and energy sectors. The Information Technology Capped Index fell more than 3.5%, led by Celestica Inc.
