Tesla (TSLA) reported third-quarter 2026 deliveries of 486,532 vehicles, beating the StreetAccount consensus of about 461,100 and its own compiled estimate of 461,974. The stock rose about 2% after the October 2, 2026 release. The Model 3 and Model Y accounted for 478,237 deliveries, roughly 98% of the total, with 8,295 from other models. Production reached 464,391 vehicles. Deliveries rose from 480,126 in the second quarter but fell about 2% from 497,099 a year earlier. Energy storage deployments totaled 13.7 GWh, up from 13.5 GWh sequentially and 12.5 GWh year over year. Tesla faces intensifying price competition from Chinese automakers including BYD and Xiaomi, and the loss of the U.S. federal EV tax credit, which expired after September 30, 2025. Full third-quarter earnings, covering net income and cash flow, are set for October 21, 2026, after market close, followed by a management webcast at 5:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
