Tesla's Musk Predicts 100 Billion Humanoid Robots Within 20 Years

Tesla (TSLA) CEO Elon Musk said humanoid robots could reach 100 billion units within 20 years, projecting at least 1 billion within a decade and possibly 10 billion within 15 years, in an interview with CCTV published on September 23, 2026. Musk said every person could eventually own a personal robot capable of caring for elderly parents, supervising children and serving as a one-on-one tutor. He added that a single person could operate hundreds, thousands or even tens of thousands of physical robots and digital agents simultaneously.
