Uber Technologies Inc. (UBER) and Israel-based Autobrains on June 1, 2026, announced a robotaxi program in Munich, tapping Nvidia Corp.’s (NVDA) Drive Hyperion platform as they seek to scale autonomous ride-hailing in Europe. The service, pending regulatory approvals, will combine Uber’s mobility network with Autobrains’ AI driving system that uses specialized decision-making agents and standard automotive sensors for real-time responses. The companies said the deployment is designed to move beyond isolated pilots with an original equipment manufacturer-agnostic model capable of operating across multiple vehicle platforms and urban markets. Munich will serve as the first city. Uber had previously flagged plans in 2025 to begin self-driving trials in the German city starting in 2026.
