Uber Freight to Open Krakow Hub in 2027 in Multi-Year European Expansion

Uber Freight announced Monday a "significant, multi-year" expansion of its European fourth-party logistics (4PL) business, including a new control tower and operations hub in Krakow, Poland, slated to open in 2027. The Krakow facility will become Uber Freight's second European location alongside its existing Netherlands operations. The company declined to disclose the investment amount or expected headcount. Uber Freight said Europe's road freight market is valued at roughly $520 billion, with 13.3 billion tonnes of goods moved across the EU in 2025, and that its European 4PL deal wins doubled last year. The 4PL business came via the $2.25 billion Transplace acquisition in 2021. Uber Technologies (NYSE: UBER) also named Mike Doucleff head of Europe, reporting to CEO Rebecca Tinucci, effective Sept. 28. The expansion targets shippers seeking consolidated cross-regional transportation management, including chemical manufacturer OXEA.
