Uber Technologies Inc. (NYSE: UBER) shares climbed 5.2% on June 2, 2026, after the company announced a robotaxi program in Munich, Germany, in partnership with Israeli AI firm Autobrains and using Nvidia’s DRIVE Hyperion platform. The initiative, which requires regulatory approvals, aims to create a scalable autonomous mobility service in the dense urban environment. The stock later settled at $74.09, up 5% from the prior close, still 26% below its October 2025 high of $100.10. The move follows Uber’s first-quarter 2026 results on May 7, where adjusted earnings per share of $0.72 and adjusted EBITDA of $2.48 billion beat estimates, though revenue of $13.2 billion slightly missed. Guidance for second-quarter bookings and EBITDA came in above consensus.
