Uber, WeRide Partner to Launch Robotaxi Service in Zurich Late 2026

Uber Technologies (UBER) and autonomous driving company WeRide will launch a robotaxi service in Zurich, Switzerland, in late 2026. The partnership marks WeRide's initial European expansion and Uber's latest move to integrate autonomous vehicles into its ride-hailing platform. Initially, the service will feature WeRide's autonomous vehicles with safety drivers. The collaboration aims to provide self-driving rides to Uber users in a major European city. This initiative follows similar ventures by Uber in other markets, leveraging partnerships to scale its autonomous offerings. WeRide, a Guangzhou-based firm, is expanding its global footprint, having previously deployed autonomous services in China, the UAE, and Singapore.
