Veracyte's Decipher Test Predicts Hormone Therapy Benefit in Phase 3 Prostate Cancer Analysis
Veracyte (VCYT) announced Tuesday that its Decipher Prostate Genomic Classifier identified intermediate-risk prostate cancer patients more likely to benefit from adding short-term hormone therapy to radiation, based on a retrospective analysis of the Phase 3 NRG/RTOG 0815 trial. The findings will be presented as Abstract 312 at the 2026 ASTRO Annual Meeting in San Francisco on September 29, 2026. Among 395 patients with a median follow-up of 10.2 years, those with intermediate or high Decipher scores saw an 8% absolute reduction in distant metastasis at 10 years when ADT was added to radiation. The 44% with low Decipher scores showed a nonsignificant 1 percentage-point difference. Decipher Prostate is a 22-gene genomic test using RNA whole-transcriptome analysis. Elai Davicioni, Veracyte's medical director of Urology, said the results provide the first evidence that Decipher can predict which men are most likely to benefit. VCYT traded up 0.59% at $45.49.
