StockStory favors Veeva and Toast cash positions, flags Origin Bancorp concerns
StockStory highlighted Veeva Systems (NYSE: VEEV) and Toast (NYSE: TOST) as cash-heavy companies it views as better positioned for sustainable growth, while expressing caution on Origin Bancorp (NYSE: OBK). Veeva Systems held a net cash position of $6.46 billion, equal to 24.8% of its market capitalization, and traded at $159.50 a share, or 7.8 times forward price-to-sales. Toast held $1.74 billion in net cash, equal to 12.4% of market value, and traded at $24.29, or 2 times forward price-to-sales. Origin Bancorp held $625.8 million in net cash, representing 43.8% of its market capitalization, but StockStory said the bank gave it pause. OBK traded at $46.16, implying a valuation of 1.1 times forward price-to-book.
