Viper Energy (VNOM) shares fell to $46.85 from $50.95 before its first-quarter earnings release after revenue matched Wall Street expectations and adjusted profit modestly exceeded forecasts. Management said higher production volumes drove the quarter, supported by a significant increase in gross wells turned to production and continued development in the Midland and Delaware basins. CEO Kaes Van't Hof cited the Riverbend acquisition as a strategic expansion of Viper’s royalty acreage and production base. Investors are watching production growth from Diamondback and third-party operators, integration of Riverbend assets and the company’s capital return strategy as oil prices and M&A activity evolve. Additional acquisitions and operating synergies from new acreage remain key execution markers.
