Versant revenue beats estimates as licensing deals and Fandango sales offset pay-TV declines
Versant Media reported first-quarter revenue above Wall Street estimates on May 14, 2026, helped by content licensing deals and growth at digital platforms including Fandango, which partly offset continued pressure from pay-TV cord cutting. Revenue for the January-March quarter was $1.69 billion, topping LSEG estimates of $1.62 billion. Content licensing and other revenue rose 112.3% to $121 million, driven by licensing select library titles, including “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” to Hulu. Platforms revenue increased about 9.1% to $192 million on stronger ticketing sales at Fandango. Linear Distribution, Versant’s largest segment, fell 7.3% as subscriber declines persisted. The Comcast spinoff said events including the Milan Cortina Olympics and the World Economic Forum in Davos boosted engagement, while CNBC posted its highest-rated quarter in four years and MS NOW had its most-watched quarter since 2024.
