Valvoline Adds $175 Million to Buyback, Total Authorization Reaches $500 Million
Valvoline Inc. (VVV) said its board authorized an additional $175 million in share repurchases on September 29, 2026, raising the total remaining authorization to $500 million. CEO Lori Flees said the expanded program reflects confidence in the company's long-term trajectory and free cash flow growth. Valvoline expects to resume buybacks after releasing fiscal year results, prioritizing growth funding, balance sheet health and excess cash returns to shareholders. Repurchases may be made in open market or privately negotiated transactions, including accelerated share repurchases and Rule 10b5-1 trading plans. The authorization has no expiration date. In pre-market NYSE activity, Valvoline shares rose 1.30 percent to $28.86, after closing the previous session 1.52 percent lower.
