The Federal Communications Commission on May 14, 2026, approved Verizon’s (VZ) $1 billion 2024 agreement to acquire spectrum assets from U.S. Cellular, clearing the telecom carrier to expand network capacity and coverage. The approval follows T-Mobile’s (TMUS) earlier acquisition of most of U.S. Cellular’s wireless operations and 30% of its wireless spectrum in a $4.4 billion deal. The remaining business subsequently changed its name to Array Digital Infrastructure.
