Walmart (NYSE: WMT) plans to invest $300 million in a fulfillment center in Turtlecreek Township, Ohio, specializing in oversized, non-sortable items such as televisions and furniture, according to a Sept. 28 release from REDI Cincinnati. The facility will create more than 300 jobs and follows Walmart's purchase of nearly 100 acres in Warren County. It aims to complement the retailer's existing Monroe, Ohio site, which employs over 200 associates, and support its next-day delivery network. The release did not disclose the facility's size or construction timeline. The move is part of Walmart's broader warehouse network overhaul, including a proposed 1.5 million-square-foot facility in New York, a $330 million robotics upgrade in Louisiana, and planned closures in Massachusetts and Illinois. Amazon and Costco are similarly expanding bulky-item delivery capabilities.
