Walmart (WMT) to Offer Express Delivery of Subway Orders via App, Website
Walmart Inc. (NYSE: WMT) said Friday it will begin offering express delivery of Subway orders through its app and website, expanding its third-party delivery services to include the quick-service restaurant chain. Customers in select markets can place Subway orders for delivery in as fast as 30 minutes, using Walmart’s existing logistics network. The partnership marks a push by Walmart to broaden its e-commerce platform beyond groceries and general merchandise, integrating a major restaurant brand to capture more convenience-driven spending. Financial terms were not disclosed. Walmart shares were little changed in early trading. The move comes as retailers increasingly compete to offer faster, integrated delivery options to retain customer loyalty.
