Wave Life Sciences Advances Liver siRNA Candidate Into GSK Pipeline, Triggering $12 Million Milestone

Wave Life Sciences (WVE) said a liver-focused RNA medicine candidate has entered GSK's development pipeline, triggering a $12 million milestone payment under their research collaboration. The candidate uses Wave's GalNAc-siRNA design for a hepatology indication. WVE rose 7.42% to $3.91 in premarket trading on September 30, 2026, after closing at $3.64. Under the collaboration, Wave is eligible for $330 million to $375 million in development, launch and commercial milestones per program, plus tiered royalties on net sales. Three additional collaboration programs are advancing toward candidate selection using its PRISM platform. Wave ended June 30, 2026, with $490.6 million in cash and securities, expected to fund operations through the third quarter of 2028. Its pipeline includes WVE-007 for obesity in Phase 2a and WVE-006 for alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency.
