Apple to Launch Korean-Language Siri AI This Month, Backed by Google's Gemini
Apple (AAPL) will add Korean-language support to its generative AI-powered Siri AI this month, according to industry sources cited by Yonhap, giving South Korean users access to the service. The expansion follows the September release of an English-language beta version of the new Siri. Apple said the assistant offers improved conversational capabilities, can understand personal context, identify on-screen content and perform more in-app actions across the system. For example, a user asking for a recipe from a past trip can have Siri search message history and return a link to that specific dish. The service also includes Visual Intelligence, which supports image understanding and multimodal queries on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Vision Pro screens. Apple has expanded Siri AI's integration with Korean apps and is working with local technology companies Kakao and Naver on service optimization. Siri AI is powered by Google's (GOOGL) Gemini, though Apple said the service operates within its internal security architecture and that data tied to AI-processed responses is designed to be deleted immediately.
