Apple's first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, is trading below its official launch price in China less than three days after release, as resale premiums evaporated amid reports of app incompatibility and screen defects. On Oct. 26, Pinduoduo listed the 256GB model at 15,799 yuan ($2,170) after subsidies, 200 yuan below the official 15,999 yuan price. The 512GB version was offered at 17,799 yuan versus an official 17,999 yuan. Resale platform Dewu showed premiums of just 239 to 457 yuan on 256GB units, while offline recyclers quoted 17,950 yuan for the 512GB model, 49 yuan under retail. The device launched Oct. 23, with official prices ranging from 15,999 yuan for 256GB to 26,499 yuan for 2TB. Users have reported screen cracks without external force and multiple popular apps, including NetEase Cloud Music and DingTalk, failing to fill the foldable display. Despite the issues, Apple's website lists delivery delays stretching to Jan. 23, 2027.
