Global spending by the nine largest cloud service providers is projected to exceed $1.5 trillion in 2027, up 60% year over year, according to a TrendForce report that raised its earlier estimates. The firm forecasts 2026 capital expenditure at more than $957 billion, a 106% increase, driven by sustained AI data center buildouts and next-generation AI infrastructure deployments. The nine CSPs tracked include Alphabet (GOOGL), Amazon (AMZN), Meta (META), Microsoft (MSFT), Oracle (ORCL), and China's ByteDance, Tencent (TCEHY), Alibaba (BABA) and Baidu (BIDU). TrendForce lifted its 2027 growth estimate from 50%, citing higher complete-server prices, component shortages and prepayment demands from suppliers that are pulling cash spending forward. AI server output value is forecast at $479 billion in 2026, nearly 75% of an estimated $639 billion total server market. In 2027, total server output value is expected to exceed $1 trillion for the first time, with AI servers near $920 billion, up more than 90%, accounting for roughly 81% of the total. Shipments are seen rising 32.2% in 2026 and nearly 36% in 2027.
