AI Wealth Surge Lifts Nine Taiwanese Billionaires Into Bloomberg Global 500 Rich List
Nine Taiwanese entrepreneurs ranked among the world's 500 richest people as the artificial intelligence investment boom drove technology fortunes higher this year, according to the latest Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Quanta Computer founder Barry Lam leads Taiwanese entrants with a net worth of $16.9 billion, ranking 169th globally. King Slide Technology founder Lin Tsung-chi follows at $16.4 billion in 174th place, while MediaTek Chairman Tsai Ming-kai ranks 198th with $15.3 billion. Hon Hai founder Terry Gou ranked 242nd at $13.8 billion, followed by Delta Electronics founder Bruce Cheng at $13.2 billion (256th). Fubon Financial Chairman Richard Tsai and Fubon Group Chairman Daniel Tsai placed 284th and 301st with $12.2 billion and $11.8 billion, respectively. TSMC founder Morris Chang ranked 341st at $10.7 billion, and Cathay Financial Chairman Tsai Hong-tu took 349th at $10.5 billion. Lin Tsung-chi recorded the largest year-over-year gain among the group at $11 billion. Bloomberg data showed roughly 100 technology billionaires added a combined $845 billion in the first nine months of 2026 through September 30, the largest such increase on record, as AI demand extended through the chip design and data center supply chains.
