Anthropic disclosed in its first public IPO prospectus that planned computing and infrastructure spending could reach as much as $567 billion, sending semiconductor shares higher on Monday and Tuesday. The AI startup plans to list on Nasdaq under the ticker ANT. Per its SEC registration draft, contracts signed or amended since early 2026 carry roughly $417 billion in future minimum payment commitments, mainly for compute and infrastructure. The filing separately cites $125 billion to $150 billion in expected costs for added capacity between 2028 and 2031, a range excluded from the main commitments table. Combined, estimated spending totals $542 billion to $567 billion — a figure derived from the filing, not an official company total. Anthropic said it uses four chip types: Amazon's Trainium, Google's TPUs, and Nvidia and AMD GPUs. Compute and infrastructure costs hit $8.9 billion in the first half of 2026, nearly four times the $2.3 billion a year earlier. The iShares Semiconductor ETF rose 3.91% Tuesday after a nearly 3% gain Monday; Nvidia added 0.90%, Micron 2.77%, Broadcom 4.00% and AMD 5.45%.
