AMD CEO Lisa Su Says Chip Demand to Stay Strong for Years, Supply Still Tight
AMD Chief Executive Lisa Su said semiconductor demand will remain "extremely high" for years, driven by AI applications, and that memory chip supply remains tight, in remarks to reporters in Taipei on Tuesday. Su, on her second Taiwan visit this year, said demand exceeds supply and that AMD is working with memory suppliers to coordinate customer needs. She expects to visit TSMC later Tuesday and credited the chipmaker for expanding capacity. She said AMD held productive talks with Foxconn. She said all capacity must be brought online simultaneously and that AMD will significantly increase supply in 2027. Su called collaboration among major U.S. AI companies important and described the White House's "Superintelligence Task Force," announced by President Trump in a social media post on Oct. 4, as an important step forward.
