Advanced Micro Devices crossed the $1 trillion market capitalization threshold as demand for CPUs from personal AI agents lifts the chipmaker alongside rival Intel, CNBC reported. AMD shares have gained 32% over the past month and Intel 21%, outpacing all tech megacaps. AMD holds roughly 46% of the x86 CPU market, per Mercury Research data cited by CNBC. Data center revenue reached $6.7 billion in the quarter ended June, more than double a year earlier and nearly 60% of total sales. Meta's Muse and OpenAI's Dots both run on AMD EPYC CPUs. Morgan Stanley estimates Muse could account for 20% of AMD's 2026 chip sales; it reached 5 million downloads in 22 days after its September launch and has topped the U.S. App Store free iPhone chart for 12 consecutive days, according to Sensor Tower. AMD's July forecast put the total CPU market at $220 billion in 2030 sales, up from a prior $60 billion estimate, with the company expecting to capture more than half.
