Anthropic filed for an initial public offering on Monday, planning to list under the ticker "ANT," setting up one of the most closely watched public debuts in modern U.S. history. The AI company reported $16.3 billion in revenue for the first half of 2026, up from $1.2 billion a year earlier, according to its SEC filing. Operating losses narrowed to $693 million from $2.1 billion in the first half of 2025, though net loss reached $80.7 billion, driven largely by noncash accounting adjustments tied to convertible debt. Anthropic said it "may not achieve or sustain profitability in the future." As of the end of September, Anthropic had more than 11,900 customers spending at least $100,000 annually, including 1,900 at $1 million or more and about 250 at $10 million or more. A "Founder LLC" comprising the seven co-founders will control 50.1% of shareholder voting power, while the company's Long-Term Benefit Trust will appoint most board members. Anthropic has not disclosed the amount it hopes to raise or a proposed share price.
