Applied Digital Secures Up to 1 GW Power Capacity in Finland for AI Data Center Campus
Applied Digital (APLD) announced an agreement Tuesday for access to as much as 1 gigawatt of potential power capacity in Finland, marking the U.S. data center developer's first expansion outside the United States. The company plans to build a large-scale AI data center campus in Finland that could scale to 1 GW, with initial power expected available in 2028. Applied Digital has begun marketing the site and is in talks with major global hyperscale customers. The company said the agreement supports long-term growth while limiting initial costs and maintaining disciplined capital spending. It remains focused on expanding its U.S. portfolio. APLD shares traded 1.64 percent higher at $25.10 on the Nasdaq.
