Pseudonymous crypto influencer BuzzlamicJihad has left his advisor role at Aptos, saying the partnership "had run its course," and has redirected his meme-driven campaign toward Meta Platforms Inc. (META), the parent of Facebook. The influencer, known as Buzz, said he sold his APT holdings and did not seek to renew the contract. Buzz rose to prominence in early 2025 after an unofficial "community takeover" of Aptos helped lift the token, which gained 17% in 24 hours in February 2025 as influencers amplified his posts. He formally joined Aptos as an advisor in October 2025. Since the start of the month, APT has fallen 10.7% to a $607 million market capitalization, according to Decrypt data. Buzz told Decrypt his Aptos thesis rested on the project's ties to Facebook, whose developers originated the Libra stablecoin effort. Meta is down 1.2% on the day his campaign began, at a $1.59 trillion market cap — roughly 2,619 times Aptos's size. He said Meta's Class C share structure leaves retail investors sidelined and cited the company's stablecoin and AI potential.
