California American Water to Invest $1.68 Million in Isleton 3B Well Upgrade

California American Water, a subsidiary of American Water Works Co. (AWK), said Friday it will invest about $1.68 million to upgrade the Isleton 3B Well, extending the life of key infrastructure and improving system reliability. The project covers inspection, cleaning, treatment, disinfection and testing of the well, replacement of pumping equipment, and performance testing before the well returns to service. The company said the work is intended to reduce the risk of equipment failures and avoid costly emergency repairs. Construction is expected to continue through the end of 2026 at the well site on 5th Street, with nearby residents potentially facing increased activity, noise and temporary traffic disruptions. AWK shares were trading up 2.26% at $145.42 on the NYSE.
