Ballard Wins 4.8MW Fuel Cell Order From Siemens Mobility for Romanian Hydrogen Trains

Ballard Power Systems Inc. (BLDP) said Wednesday it secured an order for 24 FCrail 200 kW fuel cell modules from Siemens Mobility GmbH, a unit of Siemens AG (SIE.DE). The 4.8MW aggregate order is expected to power 12 Mireo Plus H hydrogen passenger trains for Romania's Railway Reform Authority. Ballard called it the largest commercial deployment of the Mireo Plus H platform to date. Fuel cell engine deliveries are scheduled for 2027 and 2028, with the fleet expected to enter passenger service in 2029. Ballard shares closed at $2.06 on the Nasdaq on Tuesday.
