Creative Medical Technology Holdings (CELZ) said its investigational Ultrasome platform produced a 93% patient response rate and an approximately 65% reduction in average pain scores in a six-month knee osteoarthritis pilot study. Shares rose 2.96% to $0.75. The open-label, single-arm study tracked 30 patients with osteoarthritis in both knees and had no randomized or sham-controlled comparator. Twenty-eight patients met study-defined criteria for clinical improvement; the 65% figure reflects the decline in the group's average pain score, not the share of patients reporting improvement. Average WOMAC scores fell 52%, and the average knee-related quality-of-life score rose about 35 points. No serious adverse events were reported. Ultrasome is a cell-free regenerative medicine platform using extracellular-vesicle-rich secretome material and is not FDA-approved for knee osteoarthritis or other indications. The findings followed an October 10 presentation at the Annual Meeting of Experts in Cell and Gene Therapy in Lima, Peru. The company plans to submit detailed clinical and laboratory findings for peer-reviewed publication.
