Canadian National Railway Posts Q3 Net Income of $864 Million, Tops Estimates

Canadian National Railway Co. (CNI) on Friday reported third-quarter net income of $864 million, with adjusted earnings of $1.54 per share that beat Wall Street expectations. The Montreal-based railroad said per-share profit was $1.43. The average estimate of nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.49 per share. Revenue for the period totaled $3.41 billion, also exceeding Street forecasts. Eight analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $3.27 billion.
