Canadian National Railway Sets Q3 Grain Shipping Record at 7.94 Million Metric Tonnes
Canadian National Railway Co. (CNI, CNR.TO) said Tuesday it moved 7.94 million metric tonnes of grain from Western Canada in the third quarter, a new quarterly record, surpassing the previous record of 7.48 MMT set in 2020. The company attributed the performance to strong customer demand, close coordination across the grain supply chain, and consistent execution of its operating plan. CN said it plans to maintain the momentum through the winter and has published its 2026-2027 Winter Plan, outlining measures to support safe and reliable operations across its network. On the NYSE, the shares were trading 0.31 percent down at $118.94.
