Serhant Launches Illinois Brokerage, Poaches 40 Agents From Compass, Sotheby's

Ryan Serhant's brokerage launched Serhant Illinois on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, opening two offices serving Chicago and its North Shore suburbs with more than 40 founding agents. The expansion marks the firm's first Midwest footprint and follows launches this year in Massachusetts, California, Texas and Colorado. Serhant recruited 15 agents from Sotheby's International Realty, 10 from @properties Christie's, five from Baird & Warner, three from Compass and one each from Keller Williams and REAL. Dina Lissner, formerly of Baird & Warner, will lead the Illinois practice. The agents represent more than $600 million in Chicagoland sales volume over the past year, according to the firm. The move intensifies competition in a market where @properties Christie's leads with $7.85 billion in sales. Compass, which acquired Anywhere Real Estate for $1.6 billion, faces the largest headcount loss. Serhant now operates 38 offices across 17 states.
