ConocoPhillips has notified staff of a workforce reduction in Canada affecting employees and contractors, set to take effect Tuesday, a company spokesperson said on Monday. The Houston, Texas-based oil and gas producer did not disclose the number of jobs affected. The company, which has about 9,900 employees globally according to its 2025 annual report, said the move follows routine organizational reviews. Last year, ConocoPhillips announced plans to cut 20% to 25% of its workforce following its acquisition of Marathon Oil, with most reductions targeted before 2025 and the reorganization expected to conclude in 2026. Shares of ConocoPhillips were up marginally in afternoon trading.
