Salesforce has agreed to acquire Rune Technologies, a defense tech startup that builds AI software for U.S. military logistics and supply forecasting, for $375 million in cash and stock, Resilience Media reported. The deal advances Salesforce's push into national security through Missionforce, its defense business unit, which has grown 80% year over year since launching last year, partly on a 10-year, $5.6 billion U.S. Army contract. Integrating Rune's frontline logistics data would extend Missionforce beyond back-office planning into battlefield operations. Founded in 2024, Rune raised $30 million from investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Point72 Ventures and IQT, the CIA-backed venture firm. It was last valued at $127 million in a Series A led by Human Capital last year, per PitchBook. The purchase adds to Salesforce's 2026 acquisition spree, which includes AI agent platform Fin for $3.6 billion, Qualified for $1.2 billion and an agreement to buy Listen Labs. Salesforce did not respond to a request for comment.
