CoreWeave Bond Yields Hit 16% as Cramer Challenges Nvidia's Huang to Buy Debt
Jim Cramer on October 27 challenged Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang to buy CoreWeave's (CRWV) high-yield bonds if he truly believes the AI cloud provider's finances are sound, after yields on some of the company's debt climbed to roughly 15% and briefly topped 16%. Yields on CoreWeave's 9.75% notes due 2031 reached a record 16.009%, reflecting falling bond prices and investor concern over credit risk and refinancing capacity. Huang said earlier this month that CoreWeave's financial strength is improving daily and that Nvidia need not backstop the company. CoreWeave carries more than $51 billion in debt and lease obligations, including about $20.7 billion maturing by the end of 2030 and roughly $14.9 billion after. The stock, which listed in March 2025, has fallen about 37% over the past month and trades roughly 61% below its 52-week high of $141.79, closing after hours on October 27 at $59.53. Nvidia holds about a 10% stake and has a separate $6.3 billion agreement to purchase unused CoreWeave compute capacity through 2032.
