Privacy Coins Zcash, Monero Outperform Flat Crypto Market as Bitcoin Consolidates
Bitcoin and Ethereum traded nearly flat Monday, with BTC at $86,264.06, up 0.59%, and ETH at $2,714.39, up 0.34%, while privacy coins Zcash and Monero emerged as the day's standout performers. Zcash rose 3% and Monero gained 2.14% to $562.32. The total crypto market sits just above $3 trillion, essentially unchanged, according to CoinGecko. The Federal Reserve raised rates to 3.75%-4.00% on Sept. 16, and a weak September jobs report of 29,000 new jobs cut October hike odds to about 22%, per CME FedWatch. Zcash remains about 19% below its late-September high of $1,698 and has gained roughly 2,500% over 12 months. Monero trades about 11% below its September high of $632.86. Key levels: Bitcoin resistance at $87,354, Zcash at $1,403.89, Monero support at $558.69.
