Microsoft, Alphabet, Goldman Sachs Among 16 Issuers Objecting to OKX-ICE Tokenized Stock Venue
Microsoft, Alphabet and Goldman Sachs are among seven additional companies objecting to their shares being traded on OKXICE TSV, a planned tokenized stock venue from OKX and NYSE owner Intercontinental Exchange, according to an updated notice dated Monday. Qualcomm, Caterpillar, McDonald's and Western Digital also joined. The additions bring total objecting issuers to 16, up from nine in the venue's prior notice four days earlier, which listed Verizon, Broadcom, UnitedHealth Group, CoreWeave and Rocket Lab. Neither notice states the companies' reasons or whether an objection keeps a stock off the platform. Goldman's inclusion stands out given the bank's investments in blockchain-based markets. The updated notice also changed language on sourcing: the Oct. 15 version described stocks tokenized by unaffiliated third parties, while Monday's version allows tokenization by an outside party or the issuer itself. Under the third-party model, a tokenizer holds real shares one-for-one through a registered broker-dealer and issues tokens meant to carry equivalent dividend and voting rights. OKXICE plans 24/7 trading on Uniswap v4 liquidity pools on OKX's XLayer blockchain, settling in stablecoins including USDC and USDT, under the SEC's September innovation exemption.
