Walt Disney Co. is laying off between 100 and 200 employees in its theme parks division, the experiences segment that includes its parks, cruise line and the Aulani resort in Hawaii. Affected employees will be notified by the end of the day Wednesday. The cuts stem from a regular evaluation of the division's priorities, investments and project timelines, according to a person familiar with the matter. Disney declined to comment. The company has more parks-related projects in progress than ever before. The experiences division drove $36.2 billion in revenue in fiscal 2025 and more than 56% of Disney's total operating income. The layoffs follow earlier cuts to Disney's human resources and technology teams and early retirement packages offered to older workers earlier this month, though the company said the latest round is unrelated. The moves are part of an effort by new Chief Executive Josh D'Amaro to sharpen focus and speed response to a changing entertainment industry.
