Ford CEO Jim Farley said Wednesday a supplier issue that halted F-150 pickup production at a Detroit-area factory last week has been fixed, but the disruption affected the automaker's third-quarter wholesale numbers. Farley, speaking to reporters, did not name the supplier. "We are back up and running," he said. "It is impacting our third-quarter wholesale. But I'm very optimistic." The Kansas City F-150 plant was also affected, Reuters reported. Production had been scheduled to resume Tuesday. Farley added that Ford has "fully recovered" from two factory fires late last year at aluminum supplier Novelis, which crimped truck output for much of the year. The recent supplier issue was unrelated to the aluminum problem, Reuters reported. Sales of Ford's F-Series trucks, which drive the bulk of company profits, fell 11% year over year through August.
