Fluor Corp. and JGC Corp. will each book $7.5 billion for their roles in the second phase of LNG Canada's export facility in Kitimat, British Columbia, the companies announced Tuesday. The 50-50 joint venture will handle engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction and commissioning for the expansion, which adds two liquefaction trains and a storage tank. The work will double capacity to about 28 million tonnes per annum. Irving, Texas-based Fluor expects to record its share in the third quarter of fiscal 2026. The Canadian government estimates the phase will cost about $23 billion. Fluor and JGC completed the first phase, with LNG production starting in June 2025 and handover in October 2025. LNG Canada is backed by Shell, Petronas, PetroChina, Mitsubishi Corp. and Korea Gas Corp. Shell expects commercial operations in the early 2030s.
