General Motors Co. shares are set for their largest weekly decline in more than 20 months, but Wall Street analysts are recommending investors buy the dip. The stock has fallen 8% through Thursday's close, on pace for its worst week since January 2025. On Tuesday, GM narrowed the top and bottom ends of its full-year profit guidance, and CEO Mary Barra warned of "clear external headwinds," sending shares down 6.8% in the worst session since July 2025. StoneX analyst Mickey Legg called the drop "a buying opportunity," saying most of what spooked the market is "timing rather than earnings power." Analysts at BNP Paribas, Evercore ISI, and RBC Capital Markets echoed the call. None of the analysts tracked by Bloomberg recommend selling the stock. BNP's James Picariello reiterated his buy-equivalent rating, citing GM's "severely discounted valuation." GM shares are down 5.1% year-to-date, while the S&P 500 has climbed 12%.
