Gold, Silver Futures Climb on NY Merc as Near-Term Gold Contracts Settle Above $4,150
Gold and silver futures rose across the board in New York Mercantile Exchange trading Tuesday, with near-term gold contracts settling above $4,150 an ounce and silver holding above $61 an ounce. The October 2026 gold contract settled at $4,159.20, up $30.80, while the December 2026 contract, the most actively referenced further out, gained $30.30 to settle at $4,187.10. Deferred contracts through April 2028 posted gains of roughly $30 to $33, extending the advance along the curve. Silver followed the move, with the October 2026 contract settling at $61.168, up 299 points, and the December 2026 contract up 289 points at $61.589. Further-dated silver contracts through December 2029 also rose. Estimated gold sales totaled 121,036 contracts against Monday's 118,288, with open interest at 394,280, up 882. Silver estimated sales were 28,165 against Monday's 38,833, with open interest up 528 at 104,836.
