AI startup Anthropic has committed more than $600 billion to long-term computing resources, and its total obligations could climb to roughly $750 billion if additional agreements under negotiation are finalized, according to draft IPO filings reviewed by The Wall Street Journal. The company said some key cloud partners have not supplied all the capacity it needs. The filings detail large multi-year payment commitments to major technology firms: about $111 billion to Google (GOOGL), $110 billion to Amazon (AMZN), and $31 billion to Microsoft (MSFT). Some contracts require payment even if Anthropic does not use all reserved capacity. Chip leasing tied to Broadcom (AVGO) exceeds $160 billion, while arrangements with Nscale and Lambda could cost up to $86 billion. Anthropic's revenue reached about $16.3 billion in the first half of 2026, up from $1.1 billion a year earlier, with third-quarter revenue reportedly rising 45% to $17.8 billion. First-half net loss was $80.7 billion, largely due to $72 billion in accounting charges from convertible notes. Anthropic is preparing an IPO, with recent reports suggesting investors are weighing a valuation near $1.5 trillion.
