Hasbro Promotes Dan Ayoub to President of Wizards of the Coast and Digital Games
Hasbro named Dan Ayoub president of Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro Digital Games effective Monday, making him the third executive to hold the role in under five years. Ayoub, previously senior vice president of Dungeons & Dragons, is the first internal candidate promoted to the position. He succeeds John Hight, who moved into a Wizards of the Coast advisory role on Sept. 1 after two years as president. Cynthia Williams held the post for two years before resigning. Ayoub has worked in video game development for 25 years, including as executive producer and studio head at Microsoft's Halo studio 343 Industries. Ayoub will oversee Magic: The Gathering, D&D, Duel Masters and Hasbro Digital Games, including Exodus and Warlock. The appointment follows Hasbro's third-quarter net revenue rise of 15% year over year to $1.6 billion, with the Wizards of the Coast and Digital Gaming segment up 28% as Magic: The Gathering topped $600 million in quarterly revenue for the first time.
