Heartland Express Swings to Q3 Profit of $1.0 Million as Revenue Declines

Heartland Express Inc. (HTLD) reported third-quarter net income of $1.0 million, reversing a net loss of $8.3 million in the same quarter of 2025. Basic earnings per share were $0.01 versus a basic loss per share of $0.11 a year earlier. Operating revenues fell to $179.5 million from $196.5 million in the prior-year period. The quarter included fuel surcharge revenues of $32.7 million, up from $24.1 million. Shares of the truckload carrier were trading at $10.30 on NasdaqGS, down 2.19 percent.
