What the scores mean

Six trucking companies sued C.H. Robinson and Total Quality Logistics in Texas federal court on September 23, alleging the brokers grew by using carriers that cut costs through forced labor, falsified logs and safety shortcuts. Stevens Trucking, Western Flyer Express, Freymiller, IWX Motor Freight, Christenson Transportation and E.O.S. seek lost profits, treble damages and attorneys' fees under civil RICO. The carriers cite lost bids and squeezed margins. IWX claims about $21 million in missed Driscoll's linehaul revenue. Christenson's revenue fell about 30 percent, from $71 million in fiscal 2023 to $50 million in fiscal 2025. Freymiller lists $51 million in lost sales across 63 customers. The case may turn on Anza v. Ideal Steel Supply Corp., the Supreme Court's 2006 ruling that barred a competitor's RICO claim because the injury was too indirect. An early motion to dismiss on that precedent is expected.
