SONAR Launches Routing Guide, Contract Rate Datasets and Expands SearchCarriers Monitoring
Freight data provider SONAR released three truckload dataset groups measuring shipper-to-provider costs, including how much more shippers pay when freight falls past the first tender. The company also expanded its SearchCarriers platform with carrier watchlists, email alerts, inspection search and equipment lookup by VIN or license plate. As of October 20, 2026, loads accepted on the second tender cost shippers a median 22.02% more all-in than first-tender loads, while third-tender loads cost 26.44% more, according to the new RGP2.USA and RGP3.USA datasets. The Routing Guide Acceptance Share data showed 89.05% of accepted loads moved on the first tender, below the 12-month average of 91.60%, with second-tender acceptances at 6.84% and third-tender at 4.11%. The Contract Rate Change Direction index (CRCD.USA) stood at 12.58%, meaning new contract base rates averaged about 12.6% above the rates they replaced, well above the 12-month average of 8.34%. All three dataset groups update daily on a 7-day rolling average. The expanded SearchCarriers tool allows users to track up to 200 carriers each for changes such as out-of-service orders and overdue MCS-150 filings.
